Styled By M&M – Black & White Racing

The biggest Black & White theme race day is Derby Day and it is just around the corner which means so is Fashions on the Field! The favourite competition being “Black & White” the stakes are high so we are bringing you the best in Australian race wear for your next derby day!

Some of you might feel that being limited to two colours means looking like everyone else, unoriginality, or boredom. But it’s quite the opposite!

Polka dots have always been a popular choice amongst prints. They’re fun and you can choose a wide variety of sizes and styles. Molly is wearing Mossman she spotted me dress, Senso priya heels & accessorises with Morgan & taylor straw boater.

Nothing says Spring Racing Carnival like a floral print, even if it is in black and white. It always remains Feminine and stylish. Molly is wearing Alice McCall Garden Party dress, Senso priya heels & accessorises with black olga berg clutch & black morgan & taylor fascinator.

Black on black is very statement, very chic and not at all boring. Throwing in some interesting shapes or patterns to your design, like a feature sleeve or layered hem, or finishing off with some stand out millinery will complete this look! Molly is wearing Isla caught out pants, Shona Joy dawn frill crop top & accessorises with black Olga berg clutch & Kitte midnight crown in silver.

Or maybe you prefer an all white dress/ensemble paired with black accessories. Simple, yet elegant. Molly is wearing Shona joy antigua baby doll mini dress, Senso priya heels & accessorises with black olga berg clutch & morgan & taylor straw boater.

Stripes are bold and brave, and can really create an interesting look when they fall in different directions. Molly is wearing Shona Joy bermuda lace up mini dress, Senso Priya heels & accessorises with Ace of something black felt hat & Olga berd lady luck clutch.

It’s so exciting to see the many different ways ladies portray this theme. The different silhouettes, prints, fabrications, textures, embellishments and trims can all help to create a unique look.

Styled By M&M – Floral Print Trend

“Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Miranda Priestley’s famed catty remark from The Devil Wears Prada may live on, but its been proven false time and time again.

If you like your spring with a lot of colour and wit, Fashion’s ongoing love affair with floral prints continues with soft pastel colours and vibrant hues. Be prepared to embrace your inner lady with floral print dresses, swimsuits, shoes, and even sunglasses.

While the floral print trend has been in full bloom for as long as we can remember, this year we are seeing lots of body-con dresses and floral embroidery.

Florals are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the joy and romance of spring. Maybe this is why the floral trend is one that just won’t go away.
